Why hair becomes thicker in the summer
Have you ever felt like your hair feels thicker in the summer?
Apparently, this is actually a fact.
Firstly, this is to do with metabolism.
Compared to winter, metabolism is more active during the summer so your hair grows thicker, your nails grow faster than in the winter.
During the summer, your pores are more open, and hair is able to grow healthier.
Also, hair has pigment cells. When they are exposed to sunlight and UV rays, melanin grows.
This is the same reason why you get tanned after being exposed to sunlight.
Sunrays last longest in the summer, so it is no wonder melanin increases, and therefore your hair grows thicker!
