IPL - Intense Pulsed Light
- Suitable for lighter to medium skin tones.
- Effective for dark (almost black) and coarse hair.
- Provides relatively quick results.
- Although IPL has a high output and can cause more discomfort, Maris Gina uses machines with cooling functions to minimize pain
This method uses light that reacts with melanin pigment to directly heat the hair follicles, suppressing hair growth. It is the fastest in terms of visible results, particularly effective for individuals with thick or dense hair.
Please note: IPL targets melanin pigment, so it cannot be used on tanned, sunburned, or pigmented areas such as moles or freckles. It is also less effective on white, blonde, or light-colored hair; in such cases, SHR or HHR is recommended.
SHR - Super Hair Removal
- Suitable for all skin tones, hair colors, and hair types.
- Can be used on tanned or sunburned skin.
- Effective for light-colored, white, or blonde hair.
- Works well on fine hairs, such as peach fuzz.
- Uses lower intensity light with multiple passes, minimizing discomfort.
This method heats the "buldge area," which is responsible for hair growth, to inhibit hair regeneration through accumulated heat. It does not rely on melanin pigment, making it effective for a broader range of skin tones and hair colors, including those not suitable for IPL.
While SHR might provide slower results compared to IPL, it is highly popular among clients with different hair types and those sensitive to pain.
HHR - Hybrid Hair Removal
- Suitable for all skin tones, hair colors, and hair types.
- Offers superior cooling, resulting in the least discomfort.
HHR combines the benefits of IPL and SHR hair removal methods. It uses the IPL technique's direct light targeting hair follicles and SHR's thermal effect on the bulge area. This method is versatile, effective for both coarse and fine hair, and suitable for all skin and hair types.
